Tower defence layouts that actually hold

Tower defence layouts that actually hold

April 28, 2026 · Marek Kowalczyk

Most people who bounce off tower defence games lose because of layout, not stats. The single biggest habit to build is forcing the enemy to walk past your towers longer, which usually means bending the path instead of blocking it.

Concentrate your damage where paths overlap. A tower that covers two lanes is worth two towers on separate ones. Look for those crossroads before you spend a coin.

Don't upgrade blindly. A fully upgraded weak tower is still a weak tower. We usually spread early money across coverage, then pour late money into two or three key positions.

Finally, keep a small reserve. New players spend everything and then get overrun by a surprise wave. Holding a bit back lets you patch a leak the moment it appears.
